Two people die every three minutes due to tuberculosis in India. Despite having more than 10 antibiotics for treating TB, there has been a rapid increase in the number of cases because of severe drug resistance. HaystackAnalytics Ω-series is a genomic analysis software that reduces the time of testing by 50-75 percent, as compared to traditional diagnostic techniques, and cuts cost to patients by >50 percent with a comprehensive 1-test solution.
HaystackAnalytics tested sputum samples of 100 drug-resistant TB patients from one of the largest multispecialty public hospitals in Mumbai and helped eliminate the time-lag between tests for simple TB and multidrug-resistant TB. The solution delivered results 9x faster with a 30 percent reduction in cost-to-patient.
HaystackAnalytics used Intel®️ VtuneTM Analyzer (software toolkit) and Intel- optimized genomic software packages which yielded a 25 percent performance improvement and enabled the genomic analysis on an Intel core processor, thus reducing the capex cost by 50 percent.
